Google Confirms Manager Connection & Accessibility Impact Employee Performance

I wanted to share an interesting New York Times piece on Google’s quest to make better bosses.  It turns out that while they expected technical expertise to rank highly when rating great bosses, it actually ranked fairly low. Employees indicated they valued even-keeled bosses who posed thoughtful questions rather than dictating answers, made time for their development with one-on-one meetings, and took an active interest in their lives and careers.
